Ascension Island Forum
Yesterday I post information about uploading photo's from Ascension
Island we have had some great feed back on this subject and i have been
asked to add an Ascension Island Forum section to the web site I am looking
at this now as you are reading this articale - feel free to send more

New Gallery to be added for Ascension
Last week i loaded a new feedback module asking for feed back on the
website, some of the users requested some more photo's with in the
website gallery.
I have uploaded some more photo's I hope you enjoy them please feel free to continue sending me more comments.

Posting on our forum
Today we found that some of the user's were having issues posting information on the forum.
We have made some changes to the way the end user post information i have also done some testing on this problem Hope fully the problem is resolved

Today an interesting podcast on St Helena appeared on BBc Radio 4 website it was very touching but also contained lots of facts to listen click on the news page
The Race is on 25 nominated for new councillors
The race is on 25 nominations has been received to run for council on the Island, 12 noon today was the deadline for nomination forms to handed to the returning officer,The general election will be held on the 4th November 2009.

Why are so many councillors needed within such a small community?
Some of them have sat in the council chair and fight amongst themselves for years, did they do any good for the island??? did they really try??? "past performace is future behaviour"
The new elected council
The new elected council members should work on a free call in network so the islanders can sit at home and make a call with there views/complaints etc in confidence; rather than holding meetings and getting lack of response. Islander's have either lost intrest in the meetings held, cant make it because other things to do while making ends meet, or either the elderly rather just go to bed. A free call network; the new council might get fully charged up with some brilliant ideas for the way forward for the islanders benifits.

From what i can see there is some new blood on the council after this election I am sure there will be some new thoughts on the table
